Christian Rock Bands
Any fans out there?

Which groups are praising our Lord in the rock fashion befitting him?

What is the Stryper song sang by The Rock in Pain & Gain?

Jesus loves you.

There was one band around in the 70’s that seemed to get a fair few support slots to bigger acts, they were called Regeneration or RE as in Religious Education generation. They weren’t that bad tbh

The Hold Steady have many songs about being Catholic to the point where I would consider them a Christian band.

I'm atheist but absolutely love that band. They played two shows in Camden and one in Shepherds Bush two weeks ago. Maybe the last shows that I will ever see?

Anyway, listen to Banging Camp, it's a great story about Holly (a character he mentions often) getting born again. Brilliant lyrics

'When I saw her at the party pit,
She was shaky but still trying to shake it.
Half wasted and three quarters naked
She was completely alone

Then I saw her at the river banks
She was breaking bread and giving thanks
With crosses made from pipes and planks
Leaned up against the nitrous tanks. .'

I love this band. The fact they are Christian is neither here not there to me, just love the noise they make. Nice fellas too, met them a few times.

There is only one Sonseed. Not rock, but deep ska that gives the skatalites a run for their money.

I think there was a band called POD (Payable on Death) who had a decent song. I can’t remember how it went though.

Also, not a rock song but Crying in the Chapel is a really nice tune.

Faith + 1

It was a piss take on South Park
They basically took any love song and replaced the word love/baby/darling with Jesus.

I quite like Amon Düül II, but the album they put out when they were in their Goddy phase, Archie the Robot, was fucking shit.

Skillet have got some good songs. They're meant to be playing download festival this year which will inevitably be cancelled
